Request for Assistance by Mom In Lieu of College Gift Fund To Stop Foreclosure on Single-Parent Daughter's Residence

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 5, 2004 -- In order to aid and assist my daughter and granddaughter I am forwarding this letter.

Danielle purchased a home at the early age of 23. As the manager of a service station she took what was a fledgling store and turned it into a top sales performer. Kenyon Oil Corporation noted a boost of sales with the store she managed since it had been an underachieving operation where revenue was derived solely from a local trucker base. The store merited continued operation, but was never considered "a shop of significance" to the corporation. Senior Management decided to refurbish her store to mimic other top producing stations once it became a top seller, previous to that Danielle's store had been where "tough territory training" was conducted and no plans for refurbishment were ever intended when she began building the store up.

Danielle brought the store to Senior Management's attention through increased sales. The success was due to Danielle's hard work and winning attitude. Senior Management had Danielle manage her shop through the renovation period, once they were complete she was discharged as the manager. Danielle's customer base drew up a signature list to request her reinstatement, but disappointed with the treatment she received Danielle asked her customers not to present them to the management.

Whenever Danielle sees old customers, they express to her that they wish she still operated the store adding it is not the same without her. When Senior Management railroaded Danielle out of the store she had operated for over two years, they did the same thing to other female managers within the region. They said this occurred due to management changes (i.e.: the new management desired men to run local shops rather than women). We know of approximately five female shop managers overturned within the same one month as Danielle.

As this occurred Danielle had just closed the sale on her new home, a terrific feat at 23 years of age. She made attempts to perform a lateral move in employment, but was unsuccessful. Not long after closure of her Kenyon Oil career and home purchase, Danielle's brother Jamie suffered a traumatic brain injury working for another local company on his nineteenth hour of work.

In addition to these traumas Danielle's relationship of five years with a significant other ended abruptly when she began experiencing severe depression. She was diagnosed as bi-polar and was hospitalized. She has since been re-diagnosed with a climate/stress disorder and she is undergoing treatment. Without a life partner, Danielle has had further responsibility of child care without option, while the child care voucher system has a two-year waiting list. Work offerings require care when there is no caregiver and she has had to turn some offers away.

After her own hospitalization Danielle's grandfather became ill with final stage Parkinson disease. He was slated for sub-acute care, but after a fall in the hospital when the nursing staff would not answer his page (i.e.: he wasn't supposed to get up unattended) he succombed and was placed on hospice passing away forty-five days later. During Pop's funeral there was a flood at Danielle's home, which entailed major restoration through homeowner insurance. Two other family members had minor required surgeries and recoveries. Another of Danielle's sisters went off to college some states away, on the train, alone.

These events, and their results, windfalled into a lack of ability for Danielle to pay her mortgage and associated life necessities. They have also resulted in further stress and mental anguish. As a single mother of five, Danielle's own mother has tried to assist when and where possible, but cannot secure $8500.00 by the 24 August 2004 deadline. And, with an outstanding judgment in the State of Hawaii for child support arrearages that amount to $130,000.00 Danielle's father and his family are less than helpful.

Hoping for "any" gift increment toward (i.e.: in lieu of college gift money or as a loan) the $8500 due this press release has been issued. An assumption of the mortgage, if it serves as option for someone, is a possible solution Danielle will consider so that foreclosure isn't a necessity.

Danielle and her daughter need to remain housed and require gainful employment with child care access where her abilities are rewarded to her as well as her employer.
